Upon arrival at Muscat International Airport, you will be greeted by our representative outside the airport who will assist with the delivery of your self-drive vehicle. You will then check in to your hotel. Please note that the hotel’s standard check-in time is 14:00 hrs. Spend the rest of the day at leisure as you prepare for your journey across Oman. Overnight stay at Ramada Encore Muscat.
After breakfast, begin your exploration of Muscat with a visit to the magnificent Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, known for its grand Persian carpet and splendid chandelier. Please ensure you are dressed modestly: women should cover their heads, arms, and legs, while men should wear trousers. Next, proceed to the Bait Al Zubair Museum to gain insights into Oman’s rich heritage. Continue along the picturesque Mutrah Corniche to the Old Muscat district. Take a photo stop at Al Alam Palace, the ceremonial palace of Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik, which is flanked by the 16th-century Portuguese forts Mirani and Jalali. Conclude your day with a stroll through the lively Mutrah Souq, famous for its traditional wares. Overnight stay at Ramada Encore Muscat.
Following breakfast, depart early for a thrilling 4WD adventure through Wadi Bani Awf, one of the most scenic routes in Oman. The journey includes a visit to the remote mountain village of Bilad Sait and a drive past Snake Canyon. Continue across the rugged terrain of the Hajar Mountains until you reach Jabal Shams, Oman’s highest peak, offering spectacular views of the Grand Canyon of Oman. Check in to your resort and enjoy a traditional Omani dinner. Overnight stay at Sama Heights Resort.
After breakfast, embark on the renowned Balcony Walk (trail W6), a moderate trek that runs along the edge of the Grand Canyon and leads to the abandoned village of As Sab. Continue to Misfat Al Abriyeen, a picturesque village set on a mountainside, then explore Al Hamra, known for its multi-storied mudbrick houses and date plantations. Later, proceed to Bahla to view its UNESCO-listed fort and adjacent Friday Mosque. Drive to Nizwa and check into your hotel. Overnight stay at Ihyaa Inn Nizwa.
After breakfast, visit the vibrant Nizwa Souq and its famed Friday cattle auction, a fascinating insight into local traditions. Explore the impressive 17th-century Nizwa Fort. Continue to Wadi Bani Habib to see abandoned mountain villages and enjoy panoramic views. On your way back, make a stop at Birkat Al Mouz, an ancient village with banana plantations and an age-old falaj irrigation system. Overnight stay at Ihyaa Inn Nizwa.
Depart after breakfast for Wadi Bani Khalid, known for its lush palm groves and natural pools. Enjoy a swim or a short trek before heading into the vast Wahiba Sands. Visit a Bedouin family to learn about their lifestyle and enjoy Arabic coffee. Engage in exciting dune bashing before settling into your desert camp. Watch the sunset over the sand dunes. Overnight stay at Sama Al Wasil Camp.
After breakfast, drive to Sur, a coastal town known for its dhow-building heritage. Visit the traditional dhow yard and the Open-Air Museum housing the famous Fateh Al Khair ship. After dinner, head to Ras Al Jinz for a guided night tour to witness nesting turtles at the protected turtle reserve.Overnight stay at Sama Ras Al Jinz.
Enjoy breakfast and drive to Wadi Shab, where you’ll trek through palm-lined paths and swim through freshwater pools to reach a hidden waterfall cave. Later, stop at the Bimmah Sinkhole, a spectacular natural depression filled with emerald-colored water. Return to Muscat in the evening. Overnight stay at Ramada Encore Muscat.
After breakfast, check out from the hotel and drive to the airport. Our representative will meet you at the designated point to receive the vehicle and travel equipment. Your unforgettable journey across Oman concludes here. End of Tour

Guests will also experience the magic of the desert with a night at Sama Al Wasil Camp, and the coastal wilderness at Sama Ras Al Jinz (3*), known for its proximity to the turtle sanctuary.

Self-drive vehicles will be delivered and collected either at Muscat Airport or at your hotel within the city, with these logistics already included in the rental package. Please note, however, that this service is not available for deliveries or returns in the UAE or Dubai. To secure the rental, the driver must present a valid credit card in their name, which is mandatory. All vehicles are provided with a full tank of fuel, and guests are required to return them the same way. A police report is strictly necessary in the event of any accident to process insurance claims, and failure to provide this will result in full liability on the renter’s part. If the vehicle is returned in an excessively unclean condition, additional cleaning charges will be levied accordingly.
