Meals: Breakfast, Dinner After breakfast, your guide will meet you at 08:00 hrs to begin your exploration of Oman’s capital. Morning Highlight: Visit the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, one of the most beautiful mosques in the world. The main prayer hall features a handmade Persian carpet with 1.7 billion knots, weighing 21 tonnes and measuring 70 x 60 metres in a single piece. Dress Code for Mosque Visit: Ladies: Headscarf required, no shorts, sleeveless tops, or beachwear – must be fully covered. Men: Long trousers required; shorts are not permitted. The mosque is closed on Fridays. Scenic Drive to Wadi Bani Awf: The route through Wadi Bani Awf is one of Arabia’s greatest 4WD adventures, passing dramatic canyons and towering cliffs. Visit Bilad Sayt, a remote mountain village surrounded by terraced farms and set against the backdrop of rugged peaks. Arrive in Bilad Sayt and check in at your hotel. Meals: Breakfast, Picnic Lunch, Dinner After breakfast, check out from the hotel and start your W8 Trail hike with your trekking guide. Trail Information: Route: Bilad Sayt – Jebel Sharaf Al Ameen Distance: 8.4 km (5.22 miles) Elevation Gain: 1,186 m (3,891 ft) Elevation Loss: 197 m (646 ft) Difficulty: Challenging – for experienced hikers with good fitness Enjoy your picnic lunch along the route while soaking in the stunning views of deep gorges and traditional mountain life. After completing the hike, drive to Jebel Shams (“Mountain of the Sun”), Oman’s highest peak, and check in at your mountain resort. Overnight: Sama Heights Resort (3★)

Trail Details: Elevation Gain: 1,853 m (6,079 ft) Elevation Loss: 1,853 m (6,079 ft) Walking Time: 5–6 hours (one way) Altitude Range: 1,900 m to 3,000 m Distance: 9 km Grade: Moderate to Difficult This challenging trek rewards hikers with panoramic views over Oman’s Grand Canyon and rugged mountain ranges. After the hike, return to your resort for dinner. Overnight: Sama Heights Resort (3★)

Day 5 – JEBEL SHAMS – MISFAT AL ABRIYEEN – NIZWA Meals: Breakfast, Omani Lunch After breakfast, check out from your hotel and travel to the charming mountain village of Misfat Al Abriyeen, perched on rocky slopes and surrounded by lush date plantations. Half-Day Guided Trekking Tour: Walk through mountain paths to see ancient irrigation channels (falaj), gardens, and water springs. Visit old goat-keeper houses and meet local residents. Enjoy a traditional coffee break with locals. Continue trekking to a nearby village with scenic views over Al Hamra. Along the way, you may encounter locals transporting goods on donkeys. Important: Wear sturdy walking shoes for this trek. Highlight: Traditional Omani lunch at Misfah Old House. In the afternoon, drive to Nizwa and check in at your hotel. Later, visit: Nizwa Fort – Known for its massive circular cannon tower, built in the 17th century. Nizwa Souq – Famous for silver Khanjars (Omani daggers) and Bedouin jewellery. Overnight: Nizwa Heritage Inn (3★)

Meals: Breakfast, Dinner After breakfast, drive to Wadi Bani Khalid, a beautiful oasis in the mountains with clear turquoise pools. Swimming Guidelines: Ladies must wear shorts and a T-shirt; bikinis are not permitted, in respect of local customs. From here, continue to Wahiba Sands, a vast desert with rolling dunes. Check in at your desert camp. Evening: Enjoy a sunset walk over the dunes and soak in the serene desert atmosphere. Overnight: Sama Al Wasil Camp (Superior Camp, Deluxe Tent)

Meals: Breakfast After breakfast, depart for Wadi Shab, a spectacular wadi where you will trek along palm groves and rocky paths. Wadi Shab Experience: 30–45 minute trek to the hidden cave Swim through crystal-clear pools to reach the cave with a small waterfall inside Later, visit the Bimah Sinkhole, a striking limestone crater filled with blue-green water. On sunny days, you may spot gazelles or even sharks in the nearby waters. Continue to Muscat and check in at your hotel. Overnight: Ramada Encore Muscat (4★)

Meals: Breakfast After breakfast, check out from your hotel and transfer to Muscat International Airport for your flight home. (Standard check-out time: 12:00 noon)
